I was YOUR dog.Life was jubilant. I was a pure hearted puppy. I was your puppy. I wanted nothing more than to be your loyal friend. I adored you the day you picked me up. My little tail wagged as I licked your face. I remember your words. “This is my dog.” I felt I belonged somewhere. It was you that gave me a purpose. You payed the good man that let you have me. Walking to the truck You put me in your lap. Your brother and sister pet me and spoke to me. Your parents talked about me as they drove down the road. I got to your house but you wouldn’t put me down. You took me to a chair and sat down. Petting me and hugging me. You loved me. Soon I fell asleep.I was YOUR dog.
